As the winter run comes to a close I feel invigorated by my love of the game. After making 5 major rodeo short go rounds, (Denver, Fort Worth, San Angelo, Austin and Houston), and placing in 12/16 PRCA rodeos, I sit 14th in the Bareback Riding World Standings. Coming back from my femur break, I felt like a rookie again, in the worst ways. I felt uncomfortable, unprepared and it seemed like I had to learn to ride all over again. With the help of a new pair of Peanut Iguana skin Justin Boots, I am 7th in the Bareback Riding World standings, my best start to the year to date.

It can take a while for the train to get back on track after a substantial injury. My older brother, Clay, and I both sat out last season and this winter due to injury, and have spent much of this year getting the ball rolling. I had a few good stretches, and some considerable droughts. Clay came back with as positive an attitude as I'd ever seen in him, like maybe all our, "When we get back riding," talks had lit a fire.
